Industry First Bollard Recycling Initiative
We’re Leading the Way with the Industry’s First Bollard Recycling Initiative
At TMP, we’re always looking for ways to push the boundaries of sustainability in the highways sector. That’s why we’re proud to launch our Bollard Recycling Initiative, a pioneering scheme that gives local authorities and contractors a responsible and environmentally friendly way to dispose of old, re-boundable traffic bollards. This initiative supports the circular economy, ensuring that end-of-life bollards stay out of landfill and are repurposed into new products.
A Sustainable Solution for Traffic Management
With our new initiative, you can send back any re-boundable traffic bollards (RSRBs) for recycling – and that includes competitor products. Once we receive them, we process, grind down, and transform them into useful new items like traffic cones, hairbrushes, and even dog beds. It’s a simple but effective way to reduce plastic waste and support sustainable manufacturing.
And we don’t stop there. For every bollard recycled, we’ll plant a tree. We’ve been working with Ecologi for years, funding environmentally positive projects such as hydroelectricity and reforestation. So far, we’ve helped avoid 609.6 certified tonnes of CO2e and funded the planting of 129,449 trees. As part of this initiative, participants will receive a certificate confirming their recycling contribution, along with official documentation verifying that the materials have been genuinely recycled – not sent to landfill.
How to Take Part
Getting involved is easy. Just get in touch with our team to organise your return. You can either send the bollards back yourself or arrange a collection through us. Visit the Bollard Recycling Service page.
Driving Innovation and Sustainability
For over two decades, we’ve been at the forefront of sustainable traffic management solutions. In 2001, we pioneered the original Retroreflective Self Righting Bollard (RSRB), revolutionising road safety with an impact-resistant, maintenance-friendly design. Today, we continue to lead the way, developing products from recycled and bio-based polymers and embedding circular economy principles into everything we do.
Proudly Made in Britain, we’re a member of the British Plastics Federation and part of the Made in Britain Green Growth Programme, reinforcing our commitment to responsible manufacturing and environmental sustainability.
